General information. Legal Aid Assistant Courses
Total amount of training: 48 acad. hours, of which 48 acad. hours of classroom and practical work

The course program of Legal Aid Assistant Courses is based on the professional standard “Legal Assistant” of the European classifier of professions ESCO (European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations)
Teaching methodology
The training consists of lectures that are held online in ZOOM. For the demonstration of the practical work are used video materials.
Educational materials. Legal Aid Assistant Courses
Each student receives learning materials in PDF Format. The student receives the learning materials after paying for the tuition and crediting the payment to the current account of the education centre. After receiving the payment, the education centre provides the student with access to the personal account. The student’s learning materials are located in the personal account. Video materials are sent in the appropriate video format. The cost of training materials is included in the course price.
Description of the learning environment
Training is conducted online via ZOOM.
Conditions of graduation
The course is considered as completed, after the student has passed all the subjects prescribed in the curriculum, in the amount provided by the curriculum. The exam is conducted in the form of an examination test according to the course program. The exam is counted as passed if the student has completed at least 60% of all tasks of the test. At the end of the course, the student receives a certificate of completion or certificate of attendance of the course.
Documents the student receives
A certificate of completion of the course is issued if the student has attended at least 70% of the classes, completed at least 70% of the homework and independent work and/or passed the course exam. If a student attended less than 70% of classes, completed less than 70% of homework and/or did not pass the course exam, then upon completion of the course he will be issued a certificate of attendance of the course.
The certificate of completion of the course contains the student’s personal data and school data, learning outcomes (knowledge and practical skills that the student has acquired as a result of the training), the scope of the curriculum, the period of study, a list of teachers.

Both certificates are issued in English.
A student who has been trained in the courses of a legal aid assistant has the necessary knowledge to conduct preliminary work with the client. Will be able to prepare information and material for a lawyer who will provide legal services to the client.
The courses of a legal aid assistant are designed for persons who plan to make a career in the field of jurisprudence. And, for those who have experience in a law firm, experience in conducting the records management of the organization or experience in administrative work and want to gain knowledge in the field of jurisprudence.
The student who completed this course has the following knowledge and skills:
- Conducts a preliminary conversation with the client and determines his needs for legal assistance;
- Informs the client about the conditions for the provision of legal services;
- Analyzes legal services using professional methods;
- Draws up a calculation of the legal service, guided by the price list, features and the terms of legal conditions;
- Knows the European requirements for the protection of personal information;
- Knows how to prepare legal documents;
- Knows the web environments and info-systems used to perform work tasks;
- Organizes records management and archiving of legal documentation;
- Knows the specifics, procedures for conducting and recording meetings of the legal service;
- Collects information and informs colleagues and clients about new legal acts and changes.

1. Preliminary work with the client (12 acad. hours)
1.1. Formulation of the problem and determination of the interest and needs of the client. Identification of conflicts of interest
1.2. Formation of positive relationships with the client
1.3. Communication with the client. Use of communication tools
1.4. Informing the client about the conditions for the provision of legal services
2. Initial counseling of the client (16 acad. hours)
2.1. Analysis of legal services and explanation of the procedure for providing legal services to the client (procedural stages, deadlines)
2.2. Cost of the service. Price list of services and price offer. Calculation of the cost of the service. Terms and procedure of payment, depending on the procedure for providing the service. Features of the provision of legal services. Payment control
2.3. Legislation on confidentiality of information in accordance with the terms of service and procedures of the organization
3. Legal services assistance (20 acad. hours)
3.1. Preliminary analysis of the client’s problem using a professional methodology (analysis of the practice of applying legal norms, judicial practice, etc.)
3.2. Preparation of legal documents (draft contracts, letters)
3.3. The procedure for sending legal documents to the addressee. Creation of a database of documents. Storage and archiving of documents
3.4. Access to legal documentation and restriction of access
