The course program of Courses for Instructors of Active Tourist Holidays in the EU is based on the professional standard “Outdoor Activities Instructor” of the European classifier of professions ESCO (European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations)

Teaching methodology

The training consists of lectures that are held online in ZOOM. For the demonstration of the practical work are used video materials.

Each student receives learning materials in PDF Format. The student receives the learning materials after paying for the tuition and crediting the payment to the current account of the education centre. After receiving the payment, the education centre provides the student with access to the personal account. The student’s learning materials are located in the personal account. Video materials are sent in the appropriate video format. The cost of training materials is included in the course price.

Description of the learning environment

Training is conducted online via ZOOM.

Conditions of graduation

The course is considered as completed, after the student has passed all the subjects prescribed in the curriculum, in the amount provided by the curriculum. The exam is conducted in the form of an examination test according to the course program. The exam is counted as passed if the student has completed at least 60% of all tasks of the test. At the end of the course, the student receives a certificate of completion or certificate of attendance of the course.

Documents the student receives

A certificate of completion of the course is issued if the student has attended at least 70% of the classes, completed at least 70% of the homework and independent work and/or passed the course exam. If a student attended less than 70% of classes, completed less than 70% of homework and/or did not pass the course exam, then upon completion of the course he will be issued a certificate of attendance of the course.

The certificate of completion of the course contains the student’s personal data and school data, learning outcomes (knowledge and practical skills that the student has acquired as a result of the training), the scope of the curriculum, the period of study, a list of teachers.

Both certificates are issued in English.

As a result of completing the course, the student is able to develop and conduct an active tourism event, create an event plan, develop a route and prepare the necessary equipment, as well as conduct mandatory briefings for event participants. A graduate of courses for instructors of active tourist holidays in the EU is able to identify the target group of an event and identify the necessary knowledge and skills that event participants must have. A student who has completed the course is able to provide first aid on the route.

Courses for Instructors of Active Tourist Holidays in the EU are designed for persons in good physical shape. And also, for athletes who wish to acquire knowledge in the field of organizing active tourism;

– for persons with extensive experience in participating in hiking trips and active tourism activities;

-for persons who are fond of sports and wish to develop their knowledge in the field of organizing active tourist recreation services.

A person who has been trained in the courses for instructors of active tourist holidays in the EU has the following knowledge and skills:

  • prepares an event of active tourist recreation and manages a tourist group;
  • ensures the availability of the necessary technical means for the event and ensuring the security of the group;
  • is able to adequately assess risks, behave in a crisis situation and provide first aid;
  • when holding an event, takes into account the needs and capabilities of the tourist group;
  • acts and behaves in accordance with the best practices, ethical norms, service standards and safety standards in force on the territory of the EU;
  • uses the necessary tourist equipment, tools and devices for carrying out activities of active tourist recreation, in accordance with specialization and instructions for use.

1.Preparation of the event
1.1. Development of an event plan taking into account the expectations, needs, skills and characteristics of the tourist group
1.2. Development of the route and collection of reference information about the route
1.3. Selection of equipment. Preparation of the event, considering the capabilities of the tourist group, the given schedule and weather conditions
1.4. Drawing up an overview of the event and the necessary personal equipment for the participant of the event
1.5. Drawing up a risk management plan
1.6. Management of preparation processes, conclusion of necessary contracts with customers and partners

2. Conducting the event and directing tourist groups
2.1. Acquaintance of the tourist group with the order of the event. Creating a positive attitude and motivating the group
2.2. Preparation and installation of equipment. Briefing of group members on the operation and use of equipment. Sources of danger. Measures to ensure the security of the client
2.3. Assessment of the readiness and ability of the group for the upcoming actions
2.4. Control over the course of the event. Measures to ensure order and prevent problems and accidents
2.5. Weather and environmental conditions. Actions in extreme weather conditions. Overcoming natural obstacles, in accordance with current EU regulations and standards

3. Analysis of the event
